Component Tray: Error on start

Every time that I open Component Tray, I get a message box that says "Error: Application not found. Please reinstall the application to correct the problem". I have uninstalled an reinstalled a couple of times to no avail.

Are you using Impulse or SDC?  SDC is a going the way of the Dodo.

Impulse doesnt' have an equivalent app yet.

Impulse for downloads. I have no idea what SDC is. Could you please translate?

And ... if it doesn't worn with Impulse, why does Impulse show it as available? Or tell me that it can't install? Or something besides installing the application?

SDC refers to Stardock Central, the predecessor of Impulse.

Please use the following application to remove Component Tray: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/odnt_zapper.exe

After that is completed please restart your computer and then install Component Tray through Impulse. Please let me know if this clears the issue for you.

I did install through Impulse. I've never loaded StarDock Central (hence why I had no idea what it was). It also uninstalled through Impulse and I'm gonna keep it that way.

Oh ... and, if it doesn't work, why does Impulse show it as available? Not a really good experience for a new user.

Are you currently trying to install it onto an XP or a Vista machine? I don't believe it has been updated for Vista at this time.

Either way we were able to test this with XP and Vista machines and it does not seem to be installing through Impulse correctly. I have notified the developers of the matter for you. My apologies for the trouble.
