for instance, i search for saints row, or even just saints, and i get zero results, even though there are posts/topics in the mycolors forum on this
Hell, I haven't been able to use the search feature for several months. doesn't matter what I search for it ALWAYS comes up with zero hits.
To the best of my knowledge this is true for *all* of Stardock's sites and has been true for quite some time, the several months mentioned by victorian gray pretty much coincides with the last rash of forum upgrades.
There used to be a quite decent search function on the GalCiv2 site but no more. The best advice is to simply use google but include the following option.
+site:forums.wincustomize.com
You can also just click on google advanced search which will bring up a form where there will be a field for "Search within a site or domain" where you can enter "forums.wincustomize.com" or any other of Stardocks now 12 different forum sites. This doesn't work as well as the old search function particularly if you want to find a reply by a specific user but it works better than nothing.
BTW I haven't seen Andrew around for a bit. He could be a bit gruff and overmoderate the forum issues threads a tad but when he was around things usually got fixed. I suppose he got sick of having to deal with all us forum goers. I kind of miss his presence.
I was searching for Chrome, and now results. To bad they haven't fixed the search function. I guess they get a lot more of the n00b threads that could have been solved by a search. But since it doesn't work, they create a new thread.

I have noticed this as well. Make sure ytou are logged into the forums before doing a search and once you do a search and you get the zero result, search again... it works for once in a while. I meant to post something about this before... thank you for doing so
yup, not much of a search engine almost never works for me...hope someone's listening.
man, this place is just a mess isn't it. i wonder if stardock will ever get this website working properly, not to mention alot of people pay the subscription fee, and it's just so buggy, and it also really sux that you can no longer subscribe to threads
simple fix...go back to previous method of searching before the upgrade....it worked perfectly.....have not found one thing I've searched for with new search since....this feature is totally unusable to me...
If you are usin Firefox may I suggest Ubiquity + the custom searches Shirley built?
