Objectdock changes display resolution

When I start objectdock it switches my display to 4bit and 640x480 res. If I then fix the res and color it looks fine till I click on one of the docklets and as the program opens it switches to 4bit 640x480 again. how can i fix this thanks.

It's been awhile since I had something like that happen on my pc and when it did it was the result of a bad(corrupted) display driver.  What graphics do you have and what driver?  When was the last time you updated your graphics driver?

Im using a evga 7800gs with driver 175.19 which is the newest one evga offers. I was hoping it was due to a setting i could change. well i can run driver sweeper and install the driver again or see if nvidia has a newer driver.

Well ya make sure your driver isn't corrupted also make sure nview is turned off.  That might be the problem, not sure though.  Nview causes problems with WindowBlinds I'm pretty sure.

i took care of the driver its a brand new driver i think 178 something. and that didnt fix it. I dont think nview is the problem since ive had object dock for awhile and this is a new problem since i switched back to my 22 monitor from and old one to have it fixed.

Try turning Nview off and see what happens.  It can't hurt anything.

I tried it and it didnt help. is there anyway to change the resolution or color settings in objectdock.

You can change the size of the bar in the Appearance tab, and you can change the skin of the dock if you like in the same location. Just right click on the dock > settings > then appearance to see what I am talking about.

Okay well thanks for trying.  You probably should start a trouble ticket with [email protected].  Look for an auto response and make note of the ticket number.  Check your spam folder.  Wait a couple of days for a written response.

Object Dock doesn't have any screen display resolution or color changes (4 bit - 32 bit) built into it.  Its made to work with whatever screen resolution you've chosen.  The fact that you mentioned your screen resolution changes to 640x480 4 bit color on its own reminds me of a graphics dislay driver bug.  I would also consider if I were you sending in a support ticket to EVGA and addressing the problem with them.

The only other thing I can think of that would cause Object Dock to have abnormal glitches is non Stardock Docklets.  So, if you are using any of those remove them all from your theme.  If that solves the problem then add them back one at a time until you find the faulty one.
