Looked outside tonight? DO IT NOW!!!!

The moon is my jack o'lantern, baby!

Looked outside tonight? No? Go fast!!!! Look up!! The moon is the most amazing shade of red from the eclipse we're having, RIGHT NOW!!!! Don't miss it, there's not another one that can be seen from the states for 3 years.

It's a great glowing orange red globule floating in the sky. The color comes from the light leaking around the edges of the earth at a tangent to the atmosphere's (where the sunsets and sunrises are happening. It just peaked maybe 9:30/9:35ish central time, so if you look fast you still might make it. Damn it's beautiful.

Why are you still reading? Look now!

I just know greywar's gonna miss this............

I just tried a couple minutes ago, it's too cloudy. I'll have to wait until 2007.

Not me...I just posted about it. I have (blurry) pics, but I'm going to take more as the moon comes out of eclipse.

Try binoculars if you've got them, they really help.

Yeah, I have a telescope but it's buried in storage. My damn digital camera is only 2.1 mpixel (with no optical zoom) so it takes kind of shitty pictures of small far-away things. Thankfully the clouds cleared about an hour before it started, so I have a really nice view of it.

Dammit, there's only one cloud in the sky here, but it stretches from one horizon to the other in all directions. Can't see a damn thing above 1000 feet.

Wow!!! It's still red, but now it's really, REALLY dark.

It's cloudy here, too...

Seems like every astronomical event that happens around my neck of the woods is blocked by overcast skies. This one is no exception.

Clear and pretty in the NWest, y'all. The moon was beautiful tonight.

The difference in the amount of light I had to do my security checks tonight was amazing! Very dark and a pretty Red moon, and at 0300
a very bright full moon. it was weird watching the edge of the moon start to turn white as the eclipse ended.

I watched it this morning at 0400ish local time. I was hoping the locals wouldn't atke it as a sign to go blow up some more infidels, but I can't tell whether they did or not, because they do it everyday anyway. Plus, it's Ramadan.

Grr...we had heavy heavy rain last night. Any hope of seeing the moon, stars, alien ships etc. was dashed to pieces... I had to drive twenty miles and could barely see ten feet in front of me 'cause of the rain.

We went outside to try to see it past the thick blanket of clouds, but to no avail.

cloudy...? Not only cloudy, but raining extremely hard. I-15 was the absolute worst at 11:00 PM! I saw three or four fender benders. LoL...so there was no chance of me seeing anything, much less the moon!!
