Impulse won't run, won't re-install/uninstall.

I'm having trouble with Impulse.  Impulse is causing an abend when I boot, and won't run.  I tried to do a repair install, and an install with new options, but both failed with the following problem:

setsdaff has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvienence.

The install proceeds after this message, but hangs.  So I did an uninstall, which worked.  I then did a fresh install and got the problem above, as well as:

Stardock Impusle has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvienence. - I get the same abend upon rebooting, and now my ATI drivers give a meesage regarding the ATI Control Center.  (I think the issue may be related to a problem with .NET Framework, just a guess).

The bottom line is, Impulse will not run, or properly uninstall/re-install.

I just tried Stardock Central, and it won't work for me due registration issues on Stardock's server (I used more than 1 email address when purchasing products, and that appears to cause problems).

Any idea what I should do next.

Impulse is working for me!  Here's what I sent Stardock support (I originally sent them an emailing detailing Impulse not working, and installs not activating):

Hello,

I fixed my problem!  It was a .NET 2.0 issue.  I downloaded a different tool to fix my issue, though it is related to what you suggested.  As an MSDN developer I knew there was something that would do more, and this did it.  I should note that I played with the .NET folder a tad before using this tool, then after running the tool I did a re-install of .NET 2.0.

I installed IconDeveloper and ran it...

Thanks for the help!

What OS do you have?

Impulse does not control such things so I'm not sure what could cause your control panel not to open. If you would like to try removing Impulse anyway the most certainly effective way would be to start in safe mode and uninstall the software. If your control panel will not open in safe mode then there is something very badly wrong.
