I am having a problem with maps and the map editer.

Hello, I am having a problem and searching online was no help. I am honestly not expecting someone to have a answer for my problem that will actually work but I had to try anyways.

First off I downloaded several maps and put them into the "Galaxy" folder located in the Sins of a Solar Empire folder located in c://programs etc. They would not show up in the game. I checked notepad and the maps were set to version #1. The game maps was set to version #0 so I did that with the downloaded maps. That cuased the game to crash so I removed them.

I installed the Galaxyforge and created a map. I put it in the same folder but it did not show up in the game. I edit the # in notepad to make it 1 but still i did not show up in the game. I decided to use the in-game map editer but I can't get any maps where everyone on the same team starts close to eachother and on the same chain of planets.

All I want is a map where me and the AI start out close together and can use teamwork instead of being spread out.

Do I need to update my game to fix any of these problems and if so can I just click update in the main menu? What does updating the game really add or do to my store bought version? Any help would be apreciated.

your problem is probably that you have to change the version number to a 2 not a 1 then it should show up in the game

I updated the game and solved my problem but now I have a new problem. The map I made with the "galaxyforge" always says defeat when I try to play it. I did as the basic guide said and made sure it wasin the galaxy file. Any ideas on how to fix this? Going to see if I can find the answer elsewhere online. Thanks for any help.

I read online it has to be in a seperate folder and not the galaxy folder but I could not read where the folder is located or how I create it. Any one have a answer to this?

no the maps have to be in the galaxy folder in program files. you have it right. there is probably wrong with the map itself. do you have at least 2 home planets i think it would say that you won right away if there was only one.
