Impulse error

this is probably the wrong area but... after i get impulse installed, it gives me an error saying this 'Impulse.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point GetRequestedRuntimeInfo could not be located in the dynamic link library mscoree.dll.'

any idea what that means?

Do you have .NET 2.0 (at least) installed? You can check it in Add&Remove programs, should be listed as .NET Framework.

Make sure you also have IE7, it won't work with IE6.

Kouin Ookami,

here are the links to the MS .NET redistributable (version 1.1, 2.0 and 3.0) in order to install .NET in case it won't install/update via windows update.

It is known that there are instances where the .NET framework refuses to update itself correctly and in many of those instances it doesn't provide any sort of error to that effect.

The way I've gotten around the issue of .NET installation/updating issues on systems where it proved to be the issue, was to install the .NET framework redistributable on it's own.

MS .NET Framework 1.1 Redistributable

MS .NET Framework 2.0 Redistributable

MS .NET Framework 3.0 Redistributable

Installing from the "redistributable" will make sure the libraries are properly installed and updated independently of using "windows update".

Well, it was developed around IE7, so at least some features I believe require it (web based Community stuff?)

Regardless, whether you use IE or not, it's still embedded in Windows and thus can still be exploited, and IE6 is rather well known for being vulnerable with security issues. So it's a good idea to upgrade anyway, and one of the major reasons why Impulse was developed around IE7.
