Advent as a MP newb - what are the basics?

Hi.

 

Im used to playing RTS online but a total newb to soase. I beat hard npcs a few times but that doesn't really help me in MP. I guess as in all games, MP tactics differ a lot from singleplayer.

I play online with a friend of mine, he likes to play TEC so I decided to pick advent. They seemed to be the most versatile, defensive and utility-focussed.

Now what I need to know is, what the most important things I should focus on are. In singleplayer I usually just tech up and mass the enemy, same bunker+overrun tactic that works in every RTS. Of course this has not worked out too well online. I get spammed by LRM or mass capital ships and have not had any chanced at all until now.

So...what do I do? :D

If he has Javs and 4+ Caps in a fleet?

It seems to be so much easier to counter TEC with Vasari. Assailants beat all small ships, add subverters and they beat everything. Counter flak with skirmisher, hangars/carriers with sentinels. Why do Advent seem to be so f*cking challenging?

Ok heres the basics of Advent vs TEC in MP.

TEC > Advent in late game. Doesnt matter what abilities or stuff they have , when your producing 50-100 creds per tick as TEC , your going to win against a poor Vaz or Advent stuck on 20-30 creds per tick.

So if your Advent , kill the TEC player before he has got his economic treadmill running. During the mid game , TEC might not be able to spam tradeports at the expense of military , but in late game he will be.
