Civ Weakness (Go around them or eliminate them)

Today i was playing as the drath for the first time, first of all i must say, its a dificult race to play, im mostly used to play thorians and yor in TA so i love the one per planet improvments and because i play as those races i tend to have good low mantinamence factories wich makes the first part of the game quite easy, but this factories the drath have wich i belive (correct me if im wrong) are the standard ones are very baaad.

Well lets just skip to what this post is for, there are 2 things mainly:

1-Anyone have a good staring build for the drath (with this i mean where should i allocate the initial points)

2-How should i play the drath in the first part of the game, just when we are at the half and end part of the colony rush.

This gives me a lot of trouble i normally play inmense so i end up knowing only 2 or 3 races so i cant use war profitering at full power, i tried it and it was great but the part where drath are the weakest is at the start and it dosent matter how much diplomatic power you have no one goes to war with others without a military.

3-(The main question and the reason i made this post) Should you, when you select a race with negative abilities, nullify those negatives or should you try to work around them?

The reason for this question is that i dont like to eliminate the weak spots of my race through just points cause it takes a little form the diversity, but some negatives like the drath -20% to pop growth is a little too much for me. But the wuestions stands, what do you think is best, to eliminate the weakness using your points? or use those points to get other abilities wich will compasate for the weakness?

Im especially interested in drath(-20 pop growth) and arcean (- 1 speed).

And off-topic i have 2 tecnical questions:

1-I get really pist off when im trying to micro a ship like an scout or survey ship through planets and anomalies but each time other ship makes something or stops it jumps right to it and each turn i have to return my screen to my other ship wich is a little anoying. Its this fixable throgh the settings?

2-Well this is kind of the same, when im moving large fleets sometimes i move a fleet and then the game sends me automaticly to other ship wich in some cases is very far away and i end up having to move 8 fleets and stop each time i move it just to adjust my camera.

3-THIS ONE IS STUPID SO YOU CAN JUST JUMP IT,while im at this and beacuse i feeling a little tired and dont want to look in the manual i will ask here, what does each ship orders do, and with ship orders i mean, guard, sentry etc.

Well I like to offset the problematic abilities myself (that doesn't mean it's a good strategy though ;) ). As for the drath for example I like to make a custom Drath with exactly the same things everywhere except I add in my custom abilities after that and update the description to something like the "Dreth" (for example) is an offshoot of the drath, which is smaller since size isn't anymore an advantage in the whole technological environment they live in. An insteresting side effect being that they are mature, fully grown sooner in age which in returns means better ability to mate. And hop +x% to popgrowth ^_^

And also apart from roleplaying, the CPU doesn't refrain on using its custom points in the way he likes so why should you ? ...

EDIT: also yeah there's an option in the settings for preventing the camera to focus on the next ship, though it's an all or nothing and there's no middle ground. the name is  "enable autofocus to move camera ... "

Yeah well i was just thinking, if you can make a better custom civ that uses all of drath abilities than drath should be changed.

Yes of course custom have to be balanced against the standard civs but if you can just make a custom civ just like the standard but without the negative points then what are we using standards for?, wich brings the question, really what are we using standard for?, for all you guys that have metaverse games ad that play at the maximum dificulty lv i want you to answer me whats best, standard or custom?

The same goes for the Arceans, except even more so.

Given that the Arceans don't have engines, they should actually have a positive speed bonus, to make them worthwhile, not a negative.

And with the Drath's backstory, they should have something like +100 soldiering (okay, maybe not that high, but keep in mind that no one tends to attack until they've got ~20-30, and endgame is ~80-90, varying with tech tree, so twice as effective is not a a bad interpretation).

Yah i find the drath -20 pop growth vs +60sold and 30diplo is great but i think you have like 15points when you make a custom and only 8 as a drath, so with those spare 7 you can have the 30diplo and 30sold (im not sure i havent cheked the numbers) and an exchange of 30sold for 20pop growth is more than worth it.

Arceans -1 speed i have always thought it was a little to harsh maybe if they had a little more sold and weapons after all they are ancient warriors.
