selecting installation directory

i purchased GCII and expansions through impluse.  every time i download and install the games, they auto-install to my c: drive.  i want to be able to select the directory in which the games install.  how can i do this?

In Impulse, click the Stardock blue orb (top left) and then click Preferences and then Folders.

If you have no space at all left on C: you will want to set the temp file to another location as well just to give yourself breathing room.

thanks hankers.  clicking the blue orb wasn't apparent to me at all, heh.  that's exactly what i was looking for.  i've noticed this a lot recently, though -- many games/programs assume the installation directory for you instead of asking first, as was pretty much universal in the past.  usually i'll have to select a "custom" installation to get the "browse directory" option.  just a minor pet peeve i have.

seabass, thanks for the tip.  the reason i don't want my programs installed on the c: drive is because i like to keep an as clean as possible OS installation there.  in the event that i need to reformat for any reason, i can just wipe my windows partition without losing any other data.

I understand and I do something of the same. However please know that some purchases (like Corel Draw just for example) that come from Impulse will also package in their own installer. This isn't a good deal of them but even if you have the install directory going if the program install is set to default then it could still install to C:. This is a minority in the programs available through Impulse but it still something everyone should look for.
