Lot of questions !

Hello all !

I have many questions to ask to you concerning moddeling, because i want to create a mod, and for strat, i try to create a Battleships, but i have lot of problem !

I'm french, so sorry for my bad english but i'm learning it at school !

So, my questions are:

I have a problem when I convert the XSI file to mesh file, the program says me Vertex error.. ect. Why does it make me it ?

When i try to see my ship in the game, just a part of the ship appear, in black, so i don't understand why ! Can you help me ? Thanks !

I don't understand the utility to clean mesh in Mod Tool and how it works (The documentation is in english, and my vocabulary is not very complete ! ^^), can you help me to this too ? :)

Last question ! I want to try to modify the data in the game ! (Weapon damage, ship hull, ect ect...) but i don't know what program use to read and modify it, and the "bloc note" (the program in windows ! ^^) don't show all types, which problem can i use ?!

Thanks for your future answers ! :)

I'm afraid I can't help you with your vertex problem or with the clean mesh tool, but I'm semi-fluent in french, so I'll take a look at the documentation and see if I can translate the relevant parts for you.

As for your last question, there are a couple things:

First off, I'm assuming that when you say "the program in windows" that you're talking about Notepad (I don't know if it's called something else in french).

Second, it sounds like you're trying to change the files in the default install directory, which is something you robably don't want to do. What you should do is go to your  mods directory and copy the reference data from the mod package into a new folder, which will be the folder for your mod. This way you can turn the mods on and off in the game, without having to replace all the files every time you want to switch mods.

Once you've got the text files in the mod directory, you can use notepad to open and edit them.

I'll check back once I've translated the parts of the documentation you need.
