Glad you guys made it through.

It's been great here to watch Texans get up off their asses and take care of business; neighbors helping neighbors.

Quite a differnece between what I saw in New Orleans.

I'm glad, happy and relieved that everyone part of the wincustomize community is safe and sound.  Tonight, I had power restored to our area after a week of no electricity.  I hope power is restored to everyone affected by the storm soon!  Other than the power outage, my family is doing well and our home did not sustain major damage.  I agree with Zubaz that it has been great to see neighbors helping neighbors and everyone coming together and working towards recovery.

Well, we were without power for about 2 days.

Started to get worried about the food. Scenes of the plague ran thru me head.

Then the clean up. Didn't need the chain saw...coulda used the CPA.

Glad y'all came thru it OK. Houses can be fixed. People? Not always.

Just got Electricity back on after six days....Got 2 trees dropped on my house and that cost me an arm and a leg to get them cut up and off the property...thing that really ticked me off is it took an out of state contracter to get my electric back on.... had not seen a single truck from my electric company for the time my power was out(Duke Energy)...not anywhere in my neighborhood...Kids went back to school Friday,so life is back to normal for the most part.....

I live in Northwest Indiana. We had rain dumped on us last Friday, Saturday & Sunday. No power outages for us, and back to beautiful weather starting last Tuesday.

It took us an hour and a half to get home from church Sunday because of flooded roadways. Besides the rain, a levy broke on the little Calumet river in the Hammond area; several homes in that area were devestated!

Our home was just fine. Our yard flooded, and we were concerned that it might get into the crawlspace, but we're fine. Our family has been praying for those in this area, and everyone affected by Ike.

Don't I wish....Duke Energy Had a recording for anyone who tried to call them for days after Ike ripped through here....It was an Out of State contractor(From Florida) that got our power turned back on and it was out due to a tree limb in the power lines that Duke Energy looked at and left after it caught fire...the florida guys got the limb out of the wires, went around the corner and out power was back on....one tree limb caused our outage and all that had to be done was remove a tree limb.....Had I known that was the cause I'd have knocked the limb down my self...as it was in my front yard....

Its usually the case, these big company's just don't give a damn, as long as they get the money at the end of each month, they're happy, even if you change providers its the same thing, just different faces, anyway at least tis sorted and your back on the net and your family can cook and stay warm, cheers Raven
