Sins crashing / stopping

Hi, I'm new to Sins.  After installing on both XP and Vista, I find that the program functions normally for a while but then stops working completely, without any error message.  In Vista, a Vista message saying the program has stopped working. In XP it just locked up the PC.

Is this a known fault?  If so, what is the solution?  I have already downloaded the upgrade, but it does not change the situation.

Please make sure your drivers are up-to-date on both machines.

...and what is a while in "...the program functions normally for a while but then stops working.....", are we talking about 5 minutes, or 5 hours?

Which patch did you get?

Also, please do make sure you update your drivers. Especially your video card drivers from the manufacturer's website.

I got the patch from this website.

All my drivers (including the video driver) are up to date.  I'm running a dual core 1.8 GHz PC with a GeForce 8500 (I think it is).  The game seems to run for say 1/2 an hour - 1 hour and then locks up without warning.  Only way out of it is via CTRL-ALT-DEL Task Manager.  On occasions, I have also had to use the hardware override (>6 sec on power button) to get anywhere.

The game looks good, but if it won't run and kills my PC...

Is there a tech support line for this kind of problem?  I'd expect a game to run on a sufficiently powerful PC (Windows performance score of 4.6).

Email [email protected] to get in touch with them. You might want to include a dxdiag from your PC.
