HELP!!!---game won't update

Ok.. just did a fresh install of SOASE...went to update, Impulse goes all the way throught the update process, then after it completes, Impulse reverts and says that there is an update availiable. and still shows me as having version 1.0 installed. Any help would be wonderful

Might there be a firewall or antivirus blocking it?

Is the New Downloading Mechanism in the Blue Orb Connection menu on? (Is that standard yet?)
