1. Go to your user directory. (From the game's main menu, go to Options - Mods - Show Mod Path. The directory needed is that minus the mods folder on the end. In order to get there, you will need to enable the Windows Explorer ability to show the files by going to Tools - Folder Options - View - Show Hidden Files and Folders)

2. In the directory, there will be a folder called Settings that will contain user.settings. Open that in Notepad.

3. Find the lines for video resolution and change them. (They'll be set to the resolution you had last selected in the game. Note that there are seperate lines for windowed mode.)

4. Boot up the game. Just don't boot it out the door.

Hello KitKun..

I did what you instructed but only the game menu fit the screen now I can play the game. the screen before that to set to single player ot Multi player and options etc... I am missing the bottom part still, the next level at the single player menu I am missing the bottom where the back botton is. I am not able to get back to the previous menu. I can play now which is a 100% better thank you.

So the main menu and the actual game worked, but the other menus didn't? I tried on my systam and everything seemed to be working fine. Don't know what to say...

I am not able to get back to the previous menu.

AFAIK Esc should do that.

In any case, the game's UI is designed for a screen no smaller than the base 1024x768. So if you forcefully run it below that, there will be issues with elements overlapping or going offscreen. Not really much that can be done about that aside from modding the UI to be smaller.

Sorry I meant to say I can only play the tutorial but the rest of the game I can't. I need to click ok on the bottom of the screen which I do not see.

but as kryo say the UI is not very accomodating. Hope fully some one will have a solution.

thank to all who try to help..

I  recently got an Acer Aspire One 150 model that seems to be pretty capapble of playing SoaSE.  At least at first glance it seems to be alright!

I set my Intel GMA settings to scroll the screen when in 1024x768 mode, then set my dekstop res to 1024x768.  If you look in the user.setting file you'll find a section that says "VideoIsWindowed", I set that to true.

The above settings let me run it in 1024x768, but I have to scroll to see the entire thing and I have the stupid window name up at the top and the taskbar hiding at the bottom.

Not ideal at all, but it should work until Stardock gets a patch out... And they need to get this fixed! Some netbooks work just fine with this game!
