Graphic tearing problems

Hi, I just bought the game and right at the menu screen I get random graphic tearing all over my screen, not only that but ingame it is very slow with missing textures on planets etc. http://img56.imageshack.us/img56/4599/screenshot0dw3.jpg

My specs are:
Windows Vista 32-bit
Geforce 7600gt (latest drivers)
2.40 GHz Intel Pentium 4
2 Gig memory
P4S800

This pc can run SupCom aswell as most other games, I have no idea why sins is crapping out, its pretty much unplayable at the moment, I tried turning all settings to low but the tearing and missing textures still persists, help please!

The drivers were updated from the nvidia website?
Do you have ny background tasks running?

Already DLed latest drivers from nvidia, no background tasks either, also just got a bluescreen from clicking on a menu button... so lame

Have you updated the game?
Is this the only game with problems?

Graphical tearing may not have anything to do with drivers. Its because your graphics card is over heating.

thanks for the replies, I'm using sins 1.05 and as soon it gets to the menu it shows random tears all over the screen like small triangles appearing and disappearing, it only occurs in sins, other games run smoothly so its unlikely due to heat (otherwise all games would be the same). The 7600gt is agp could that have something to do with the issue? the motherboard is also pretty old (asus p4s800), but it hasn't affected any other games like supcom.

If you're getting BSODs in addition to graphic anomalies, that certainly points at a driver issue (which, if you're running the current version, is largely eliminated), or a hardware issue (failure, overheating, etc).
