Is there a way to embed Windows Desktop Search in a Dock

Yes there is

Unhide your taskbar and start a normal search, but don't search for anything.

Drag the little magnifying glass from the results to your dektop creating a shortcut.

Drag the shortcut to your bar and rename it (Search - or whastever)

Change icon to hi rez version from supplied icons
