routing for online hosting

im having some trouble trying to figure out how my ip routing form my dsl modium will work for sins i havent done this in a wile and port forward dosent seam to have my router XD

That screenshot shows port forwarding by using "trigger-ports". You should be using port/port-range forwarding. Trigger-port forwarding means the router will wait for out-going communications on the specified "trigger" and will then allow incoming traffic on the specified ports. Depending on the router model and firmware this may or may not work for SINS.


If your DSL modem/router can only use "trigger-port forwarding", then you may be better off installing IMPULSE (www.impulsedriven.com) and updating your SINS game to the 1.1 BETA (v1.09) which uses an optional "tunneling" netcode so that you don't need to "forward" ports in order to host.

Of course, another option is to buy a seperate router then put the IP of that router in the DMZ of the DSL modem (that way you make the DSL modem just a modem) and control all port-forwarding and firewalling options via the seperate router!  ;)
