Question about some of the Effects options

The only thing I wish Sins did was explained what each of these options meant, except for the basic title of the effect.

My question is about the two effect options, Use Deep Space Sky Boxes and the Use Colored Skyboxes. What exactly do these do when I turn them on or off.

I know that a star systems sky box, is the background you get when you zoom in on a solar system, when you zoom out the sky box turns into a starry background, but how do these options effect the skyboxes?

Those are for when you zoom in. Deep spce skybox seems to be a dark bluish one, while the colored is the brighter ones.

And if you don't have the deep space skybox option selected then that bluish cloudiness goes away and you only have black and stars right?

Yes, zoomed in, or zoomed out, you can turn both colored skyboxes on/off.

Anybody else notice that the player colors don't appear on ships in the beta? With the skyboxes off, it's difficult to make out the ships. Who knew that bit-o-color on each ship made so much difference.

Sounds like the show mesh team colors options is off.
