v1.1beta not downloading through impulse? HELP

ive downloaded impulse, and ive enabled "view pre-release versions" when i click on v1.09 and say  update, it gets as far as saying "download started" but on the progress bar it never changes from 0 bytes / 0 bytes

why is it not starting to download?

is there anywhere else other than a torent site where i can get this update?

Try enabling the alternate download mechanism, also in the blue orb. There's no other place to get the patch.

the alternate method seems to be working, still not showing a progress bar but it says preparing download which i never saw before so i have hope lol, thanks for the quick reply

The preparing download is normal, Impulse has to compare all the files to see what needs to be updated, it can take a bit - but this should work.

I'm actually getting it to download with the alternate method, but it is EXTREMELY slow. It flies to 0.8% and then crawls slower than an amoeba after that. Not sure what the issue is. It took 10 minutes to get to 0.9%.

Any thoughts?

Nope :( The only thing I know of that you could do is just uninstall the game and re-download the whole thing which will come pre-patched to 1.09 if you leave pre-release checked. It downloads off Stardock's super high speed servers, not the patch servers that you're stuck on now, so it might even be faster.

You could perform a "netstat -a" from the command-prompt (this will give you the IP Impulse is connecting to)

Then preform a "tracert" also from the command-prompt (eg. tracert xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx <-- the x's are the IP) to find out where the "bad hop" is in your route to SD.

Knowing that, you could add a custom route statement to your PC to change the route your PC would take to SD in order to bypass the "bad hop".

If my instructions above make sense to you, try them and you should have success. If they don't make sense to you.......what can I say? I'm sorry. :)

thanks,

It's under blue orb - preferences - connection.
