We haven't said too much about the GUI Champs lately, but rest assured, we are hard at work behind the scenes lining up sponsors and getting everything ready.  One thing we often talk about here, and even in the WinCustomize SkinCast, is the quality of the skins that were submitted.  So just to give a reminder at what the '06 GUI Champs was like, here are some skins from the competition.

Simply brilliant, brilliant choices!

Those two WBs were on my desktop for what seemed like forever.  Thanks for the reminder of what kind of quality can be submitted to the GUI champs.

Acryllic by danilloOc won the silver medal in the Best Overall Visual Style and the bronze medal in Most Usable Visual Style. IMO, it's STILL one of the best skins ever made!! I'm still using it today...right now, in fact! It's been a permanent fixture of my desktop for the last 2 years. While I may switch and try out other skins, I ALWAYS end up reapplying Acryllic! I'm one fan who can't wait to see if danilloOc comes up with a few entries in the next GUI Champs! Also, danilloOc...if you're reading this, how about an updated version of Acryllic...pretty please!!

I would agree, Acrylic by daniloOc rocks, go through the gallery and search for his stuff, he was well ahead of the times with his skin designs - they're as good as any skins that have been released recently. Mike Bryants stuff rocks as well: one skin in particular, not sure if it was a gui 06 entry but cyclops was hot - just as good as anything that has been released lately and a personal favorite! I'd love to see these guys upload a skin to the gallery, they're probably working for Stardock Design and I'm sure that keeps them busy but I would love to see something cool come from those wb wizards. Crazy skills out of those two fo' sho'!!!!  :D

yeah but the wallpaper on upper right corner ??? the " Flaming Aero Of Death " ..... wallpaper .... was the most famous wallpaper in 2006... who was the artist ????  :LOL:  :LOL:

Oh... wait a minute... I forgot about a wicked wp that I actually downloaded & used for quite a bit from the guichamps website in '06, it was flaming aero of death, Zubaz, all jokes aside, that really was a decent wp - I liked it alot!!!  :D

About a update, the skin is already updated for Vista, I just have to make a screenshot to upload, also have some skins at work to release very soon.

Acrylic, Frois, Aqualix, Jitter...man so much good stuff came out of the 2006 champs. Slicer, Ghost, Aqualix, Frois, amazing icons too.

Is there going to be an update for XP, also? BTW...great to see you're still hard at work! Always been a favorite artist of mine and would love to continue to see quality work from you!
