Is it possible to install game to an offline computer?

The subject line pretty much says it.  I can play the demo on my home computer which is not online.  If I buy the download of the full game can I burn it to a dvd and install it on my home computer?  Obviously I would only be able to play single player if I can in fact do that.

You can archive it using Impulse, then transfer both the archive and Impulse.

Edit: The forum's telling me that there are two replies, but I can only see mine, and can edit it. Odd.

Edit 2: There we go. Thought editing this one might make the next show up. I can still edit this one, though.

Well the computer I am using to access the internet can't actually run the game. So is it possible to archive it and take it home without running the game? Can I even install Impulse at home? That installed on the computer I am using but it needed to download some stuff. Will buying the boxed copy eliminate this problem? Can I just download the patches through Impulse and take them home and patch a boxed copy after registering it? I am surprised this issue hasn't come up enough to have a FAQ listing somewhere.

I believe so.

I believe you would have to download the full installation file, and transfer that along with the archive. Not entirely sure.

Nope. Boxed copies start at version 1.0. However, Archiving with Impulse will get you the latest patch you downloaded.

Don't think so. Again, not sure.

If there is an FAq on this subject, I haven't come across it yet.

download patches from filefront, save them onto CD then load them onto your other comp. And it would be easier to get the boxed version.

That only works up to 1.05. After that, it's only on Impulse.

If you don't have internet at home, I'd advise getting a boxed copy of the game. While SDC was capable of operating completely offline to do things like you wish to do, Impulse does currently require internet access the first time it is run (though not subsequently after that). Unfortunately I'm not sure if this is an oversight or intentional, or if we've got plans to change it so those in situations such as yours can use it.

If you live in an area where the game is not available at retail, or don't want to pay shipping, you should still be able to download it with SDC. However SDC only offers updates up to 1.05; the current beta patch and onwards will only be available through Impulse.

Whoops, didn't know that.

Then how can you get the later updates if Impulse requires the internet the first time?

Thanks for the info. I will likely just get the boxed copy, play 1.05, and hope Impulse is fixed to account for my situation at some point. Thanks again everyone for the help.
