Can't get the territory boundaries to show up on the mini-map

I recently installed GalCivII on my laptop so I can play it on the go.  Everything ran just fine on my desktop & with a few tweaks I got my laptop to catch up with my desktop performance.

The only thing I can't get to line up is that the race territory boundaries aren't showing up on the mini-map in the bottom right hand corner.  It's just a big grey blob... no blue areas for terrans, light blue, red, etc.

Am I missing something somewhere?  A button to click, turn on, or something?  Any help would be appreciated.

Next to the map on the right there should be a button that will have the tooltip of 'ownership'. It should look like 3 colored-in circles overlapping. If that's not lit up, click it.

If it is lit up...are the iconians, korath or krynn just owning everything lol?

np and I wouldn't say stupid, just 'wondering wtf just happened'. If you didn't remember clicking that off, then you wouldn't know to re-click it to fix it.
