How to find Vista Icons on WinCustomize Site?

Site issues.

Hello,

I am a returning customer to WinCustomize but I used XP last time I subscribed which was a few years ago.  I am trying to find Vista specific icons and can't seem to find a good search engine on this site.  I need icons that I can enlarge in Vista and that have Live Folder capability.  There seems to be no function with the search engine that allows one to search for Vista specific icons?

In fact the search engine seems not to work at all!?  For example I have found a couple of vista capable icons just by mass downloading and installing and then chacking (it's a real tedious process.)  Anyway, for example, I found a package called "Nicon Vista."  So I wanted to check the page for this package to see if it here was an indication that lets one know that the package is iVista ready.  When I enter "Nicon Vista" in the search engine it does not find the package.  Then I searched for just "vista" and came up with NO results.  WTF?  What am I doing wrong if anything?

I am kind of dissapointed with my experience thus far on WinCustomize. :(  I purchased my subscription after downloading several icons for free.  Then I subscribed and started to download DreamScapes and then I ran into the "Master Dreams" which is an additional charge above and beyond the subscription cost of the site which I thought was substantial.  Anyway, I was very dissapointed that I had just bought a subscription and there was no additional costs at the time that I can see and then suddenly they want more money to get the quality packages.  ARGH!

Please help.  Thank you.

You are correct, there is no flag or category

You are doing nothing wrong.  The search seems a bit borked.  email [email protected] to start a case.

The iconpacks that came with IconPackager labelled Vista all support live folders.  I happen to use Organic.  It's phenomenal.

Sorry about your dissapointment with wincustomize.  I wish you would have asked a question here in the forums so we could ahve assisted before you subscribed.  Having said that though, as a percentage, very few of the skins available here are MasterSkins and have a cost.  Most of the masters also produce very high quality skins for free.  As a subscriber, over the course of your subscription you'll have access to free skins too.  Don't forget to check out the subscriber resource page.

Thanks for the reply Zubaz. Yes, there is more free packages than not. I am more dissapointed in the search abilities of the site than the cost of the master packages. It seems to be an epidemic with stardock to try and make their stuff seem more campatable than it really is. I was tempted on purchasing the object desktop and I noticed that with allot of the apps it simply doesn't say what OS's it supports. It may say something like "this supports XP" but then leave out that it doesn't support vista or 64bit OP's. I understand that they want to make money but they should warn customers that it is "not vista or 64bit compatable." It seems kind of shady that it doesn't. For example I downloaded MyColors and I use Vista Ultimate 64. No place did it say that it does not support my OS (at least in no obvious way.) I was even able to install the package and run it only to find out that it crashes and simply does not work. Thank god it was a trial version.

Anyway...I digress...

Is there a way to convert the non-vista icons so I can enlarge them?

The live folders is not as important to me as being able to enlarge the icons on my desktop. I use a 40" LCD monitor and sit 6 to 7 feet away from the monitor on my couch and if the icons are tiny it's difficult for me to use the system.

Thanks for any imput that anyone can offer me.

The newest version of IconDeveloper has a feature to up-convert icons.  Depending on how they were created by the artist you will get varying results . .but it's worked pretty well for me.
