I was just thinking about how, in 1.1, building strikecraft carriers will be more worthwhile and then it occurred to me -- what if each carrier can carry 2 or 3 strikecraft? If a carrier costs about 6 supply points and people start spamming them out, that means that for every 6 supply points, instead of having just one LRM, you end up with 3 or 4 units that CPUs have to keep track of.
I can't speak for other people, but I play on a Socket 939 Athlon 4400 overclocked to 2.4 Ghz and I set Sins to run on a single core and move all of my other programs to the other core, and when two 1500+ supply point fleets meet, my CPU maxxes out and the game lags.
So, is it possible that one of the side effects of 1.1 might be increased CPU-lag at lower supply point fleet sizes? Are there any settings (Effects menu?) that could be tweaked to reduce the load on CPUs?
