Auto Attack

It would be nice to be able to prioritise targets with this option.

I have taken to sticking a load of offensive craft on Auto Attack and just letting them do their thing, but they never seem to bother attacking Mines on asteroids, only other ships. I'd like to be able to tell them who and what to seek out.

Personally I think attacking mines on asteroids is a waste of attack power: Conquer the nearby planet and they flip pretty quickly. On the other hand, rebuilding and improving asteroid bases take a lot of time.

Yup.

I'd love to know the algorithm behind it, because it seems pretty random. Most of the time it will waste moves bouncing around rather than just wiping out the enemies that are closest.

I think it's good they did it the way they did, since you rarely SHOULD destroy mines or miners since you're going to be taking them over anyway. (then you'd have to rebuild them)

The one thing that always bugged me, is that transports are not a priority.

However, another set of options isn't what this game needs...

There are times when it is worthwhile. They make a great target for an economic raid - while they don't cost anything to build, they do take time, and that's lost production. An excellent option if your enemy is stronger than you; you can run in, blast a few asteroids and run away without an enemy fleet catching you.

If a minor civ is mining them, they won't flip at all. You have to destroy them and rebuild.
