Cannot install patch!!!

It should be an .exe file. Just run it.

It is but when i try to install it it says:


Sins of a solar empire.exe could not be found at the path location in your registry at
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Dregin.net\sins

Make sure you have the game installed

This update installation will now close





I already reinstalled twice but i don't know what to do.
And this came directly from the disk.

If you run regedit.exe from the Run box in the start menu, and browser to that location in the registry (don't change anything!), does it or a folder named 'sin' exist there?

No there is no folder named sins. I checked in all the folders there is no sins but i can still play the game.

Strange then that there should be no registry entries if you've installed the game directly on this machine. Are you running under a limited user account in windows? If so, try reinstalling the game with admin privileges.

i am the administrator and i ran under administrator ill reinstall it to be sure

If it doesnt work, then u may need to search and distroy left over files after the uninstal then reinstall. Sometime a comp may have corrupt files that can interfear with things.

Yah i fixed it i just had to uninstall and then install it again for some reason something didn't install right.

The patch I downloaded from the site is something called a EFW file, and it will not install the patch.
