xml editting issues (not really modding)

Got a bit of an issue with xml editting here....

Basically Ive editted the race-config xml files so that all the races have the colour attributes and logos that I want them to have. You may think why doesnt he just change these in the oppenents setup section, but you cant if the game is a scenario...Anyway this method works fine for sandbox games, but whenever I create my own scenarios, all the opponents always default back to the original colour schemes.

I cant understand where the game is referencing these attributes from, as Ive changed all the xml files that relate to race config and map settings in the TA folder and the GC2 master folder. Is there some hidden race setup file that you cant edit or something?

Cheers

If you have edited the RaceConfig.xml file, have you also cleared the .customracexml files from the My Documents\My Games folders? Those are written each time you use any of the races, and override the default data files.

No, I left those assuming they are created when you edit the race settings in the actual game. Would deleting these files in my documents have any effect?
I had already changed the race settings in the game menu btw, so in thoery they shouldnt have caused my scenario races to reset to default colours anyway, even if they were the culprit.

If those overrides were from before you modded the races, then they'll still probably have the old races as a basis. Clearing them should let your new ones show through.

Nope it didn't work. The custom colours only show through on a normal game....if any scenario is used, the colours all go back to the game defaults...except my own race but I guess you can edit that in the game setup menu anyway.
