CD key problems

Okay, I'm not wholly sure where this should go but this is as good a place as any I suppose.

Anyway, a while ago I bought a store copy of Galactic civilisations 2, as far as I can tell I recived a CD key printed on one of the disks but it contained no spaceing, just raw letters and numbers. My question is then, where would the spaces normally go, ie every fith character or something.

Its a really dumb question but this has stopped me patching the game and I think would be vital if I ever wanted to purchase any more of the series.

Thanks.

The serial number is usually located on a sticker on the jewel case.

There are no spaces or dashes, just a string of numbers and letters.

Okay, thanks, but the only code I have (a 25 figure one) keeps claiming it is invalid every time I input it. I have double trebble checked this but if it itself is wrong I'm not wholly sure what I should do.

What version of the game did you get, and where? I'm pretty sure that there should be a sticker for the serial, and IIRC it's at least 28 characters long.

sorry, miss count on my part, it is acctually 28 figures, and the code is printed on the front of one of the CDs. However I have just noticed that in the error message I've been getting is saying that either that the email address or serial is invalid. Now, I was useing a different email address when I first installed this product (and a different computer) could this be the problem?

Edit: this is the core game only I am talking about, Galactic Civilisations 2: Dread Lords

If you already registered it and are now trying to do so with a different email address, then that would be a problem. If you contact [email protected] they should be able to help you sort out your accounts.
