Some advice before buying this great game

Hello everyone,

First sorry for my poor english I am french.
I have some questions : if i buy collector's edition i know i have two copies of the game (digital and box). For the box version do i need an internet connection to play (alone) and download patchs (like steam). I have a better pc without internet and an other which is older (i only use it to download patch or demo , read mails ...) so that's why i ask that. Same question for the digital version do i need an internet connection or install something else to play ?

Thanks for your future answers.

If you buy the "collector's edition" (digital download + box) which is exactly what I did, then you will get one serial for updating and playing online.

It is the same game, you're not getting "two copies" of SINS, just one copy on two different media. :)

You can transfer downloaded patches from an internet-enabled PC to another pc so you don't need to have an internet connection to play.

The DEVS have allowed us to use/install the game on two computers (which we own) at the same time.

The way to get the digital download is to use IMPULSE (www.impulsedriven.com)

thanks,

the Monk

For both versions, no connection is required to play. You will need to be connected to download patches, but Impulse will allow you to transfer patches between your connected PC and the better not connected one. It will also allow you to transfer the whole game, actually, to your better PC. Download it on one, archive it, install it on the other.

But Impulse is not like Steam. Once you download the game (digital)/download the patches, you do not have to have it running to play.

Hope this helps!

If you install from the retail disc, no internet is needed, however once you update it it becomes identical to a downloaded install, which is updated via Impulse (our distribution platform).

In either case, Impulse does have the option to archive the game for installation on an offline machine, either for a full install or to overwrite an existing install with the latest version. So you can save the shipping cost of a box and still be able to install and update the game on your offline machine.

You'll need to have Impulse installed on your offline PC :)

Yes, Impulse is needed on the offline machine in order to unpack the archive. You'll want to get the full install here in order to do that, as the default Impulse installer is a web install.
