Screen resolution not supported?

HD 720P (1280x720)

I just bought my game today, however I have an issue with the display resolution.

My computer runs Windows Vista with an Nvidia 8800 GT, I use my 720P LCD HDTV as a monitor.

However I don't see any display choices listed under Resolution in the game's options, aside from refresh options of 30 and 29Hz, and Anti-Aliasing options.

I can't play the game this way because the top and bottom on-screen interface menus are cropped off.

I saw in the FAQ that a minimum resolution of 1024x768 is supported, and whatever higher resolution the computer will handle.

Will there be any game updates to resolve this? I'd hate to return this game, as it appears to be an awesome game with everything (almost... playable resolution!) that I want.

Developers should pay attention to the growing trend of PC users utilizing their HDTV's as displays and accomodate for this.

I know that you can set the resolution to whatever you like if you open the user.setting file, located in your C:\Users\youruser\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire path (I think I got that right). It's been a while since anyone's brought up resolution issues when running on TVs, so I don't remember if there's a way to get them to show up in-game.

The game will only offer those options that windows/directx offer to it, so you need to have a proper display driver installed. For TVs there frequently isn't one, so setting the resolution manually in the settings file as Annatar noted is necessary.

720p LCDs generally have a native resolution of 1360x768, so try that when you do set it.

Yes, I just found it myself in the readme file. It looks like it works, as I can see everything now.

Thank you though for the relatively quick response!
