Game won't start

First, I read the posts about the hotfix and it doesn't apply to (it said that when I tried to run it). When I start the game I get a black screen and then a message pops up saying that the game asked runtime to close it in an unexpected way. This started two days ago and I have had the game installed for three weeks now (it had been fully updated the whole time). No other message shows up. When I reinstall the game it will run just fine but if I try to update it the game crashes just like I described. I also don't get any messages about mini dump files so I don't know if that applies to me.

My setup:
Vista Business 32
Pentium D 840
3 GB memory
Creative Audigy 2 ZS sound card - latest drivers installed
e-GeForce 8800 GTS SSC - with the 175 drivers installed

Are you trying to load a save-game from a pervious game version? That will break your game (mini-dump)

Are you running MOD's at startup. If certain files in an older MOD haven't been updated to match your game-version that will also break your game.

thanks,

I deleted all of the saved games from previous versions and I do not have any mods installed. There is no mini dump involved, just a message saying that the application asked Runtime to close it in an unexpected way.

I think I know what's wrong...

I had the EXACT same problem about 2 miniutes ago.

You need the have either and empty disk drive, or the sins disk in. I had some stupid audio CD in and it wouldn't run.

Hope that helps :)

SoaSE doesn't require a disc in to play.
