Tiling taskbar in Skinstudio 6

How do you do it?

I updated to Skinstudio 6 a few weeks ago, but I need some help. I've created a taskbar that needs to be tiled, not stretched. For some reason, I can't find a way to do that. With Skinstudio 5, there was an option to either tile or stretch,  but with 6, it doesnt' seem to work. What could I be doing wrong?

I mean I tried it and it didn't work. I tried all the options, but it wouldn't work. I've also had trouble importing .png files. It's like it won't take or something. I wonder if I have a faulty copy of SkinStudio?

I've never had trouble importing png's. I have played with tiling the taskbar but never ended up saving it that way because it just looked wrong on the skins I was making. I'm no expert but it does sound like your copy may be faulty...only one way to find out, I guess.  :NOTSURE:

Have you checked the boxes Tile top section, tile bottom section, tile left section, tile right section? These are the important settings for tiling. You should see instant changes in the preview if tiling is working properly.

NT is correct it won't tile w/out those boxes,
note:I have noticed that every once and a while the settings don't take so after setting tiling and checkboxes press code editor and see if the proper code is inserted if not you can type it in and it will stay !
To tile in all directions it should say something like:

Tile=1
TileTop=1
TileBottom=1
TileLeft=1
TileRight=1

As for the .png go to tools/preferences/Advanced(tab)/Do not covert .tga to .png (make sure this check box is unchecked.

Yes, all those are checked. Sometimes I see instant changes, sometimes not.

I tried this too. Just checked the preferences, and the box is unchecked. I may just have to uninstall it and reinstall. Hopefully this won't wipe anything out!

In case anybody is interested, I had to reinstall Skinstudio 5 and it worked fine. Looks like I'm only going to be using 6 for the Vista skinning parts. What a shame.

It sounds like your version of Skinstudio is not saving changes to disk.

Are you using the standard or pro version of SKS6?

The Pro version. It seemed to help to reinstall it, though now and then it doesn't seem to want to save. I have to close it out and open it back up and it works okay.
