Windowblinds compatibility

I purchased the 4.whatever version of windowblinds years ago and was upgraded to 4.6.  No serious issues or anything really to complain about.   I am curious about which skins I can use with no problems.  I realize that I can't use 6.0 and above skins with 4.6 for obvious reasons, but where will the problems begin with all the numerous upgrades this program has gone through over the years?  Are the skins created for 5.0 going to create problems if I try to run them?  I have noticed that many of the nice ones were updated from 4.? to 5.0 and I really don't care to mess up my system by installing them if they won't work.

I hope that made some sense...lol  Oh, no offense, but I really see no point in upgrading when this one works just fine for me.  It's kinda like Vista and me, it just aint gonna happen.

As far as I know, trying a new skin with an older version of WB will not harm your PC, its just that certain aspects may not be skinned or look off. trial and error to find skins that work properly will be the biggest issue as you try to find some that work enough to merit use..

I don't think they will mess up your system, but if they were designed for the newer features of WB then there might be several elements that won't look right.  There has been many features added since WindowBlinds 4, I would recommend an upgrade.

in the past I noticed some of the more experienced artists would create their designs in such a way that even if you were using an older version the blind would still look good. though I think with wb6 everything changed there, because text and design have now changed. But I would still try it. It never hurt my system in the past when I was behind on the versions , and wanted to try new skins. But like was pointed out earlier, there were some that didn't look right, so I just deleted those skins after trying them .

Thankfully, having the newest versions doesn't prevent you from using older blinds ,at least back to the uis2 ones.
