Installation problem

Hi,

I tried to search some information regarding this problem, but could not find any.

I bought Sins of solar empire and have been trying to install it through the Stardock Impulse.

The game downloads successfully, but at some point of the extraction of the files my computer totally freezes. Only thing I can do is push the reset button or hold down the power button to restart the computer. I have tried again and again for several times already.

Can someone help me with this problem?

My computer specs:
Windows XP SP2
Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
2 GB RAM
Ati Radeon X1950

You have tried redownloading, just to be sure?
You are waiting a decent amount of time, right? (Such as, more than a few seconds.)

Correct.

I just tried installing the game on my laptop and everything went OK.

So it has something to do with my main computer. This is strange though as I formatted and re-installed only necessary programs on this computer two weeks ago.
