Demo?

I'd like to give this game a try (again) - but I'm not going to spend ~60$ just to find out I still find it boring... So, will there be an Arnor demo released? Also some questions: - I'm going to buy a GeForce Ti 4600 - what kind of visual glitches can I expect from a DirectX 8 GPU with Arnor? - Is there now a way to rotate the ships in the designer without clicking on the rotation buttons (for instance using right click + drag)?

The GeForce Ti 4600 is 6 year old crap ... buy something else. If you have a PCI-E slot you can find the Nvidia 8600 are about $60 after rebate. If you have an AGP slot there are still MANY video cards that are better for cheaper.

To describe how shitty that video card is, I would have to say that new intel onboard video cards can run circles around it.

I'm planning to buy a new one next year, but until then I'd just like to be able to play my favorite games with a correct framerate. BTW Heroes of Might and Magic V, which has higher system requirements than GalCiv2 runs without being too sluggish on my current GeForce2.
So, has anyone tried Arnor with a DirecX 8 card?

We don't have a TA demo yet, and I'm not sure what the timeline on that will be (if we do one). There is a demo for GC2 Gold/DA if you last tried it at DL, though.

A DirectX 8 card *should* run the game without any major issue. It's not until you step back to DirectX 7 (Geforce2 and Geforce4MX) that big issues crop up.

Maybe I am misunderstanding, but can't you use the mouse wheel button to rotate them? I just hold down my mouse wheel and rotate that way. Perhaps you have an old-school mouse?
