Mod is enabled, but still doesn't work

The problem: mods won't work.

The strange thing is, the mods show up on the Mods Screen in the game---I have them in the proper file path. I can select a mod and enable it. However, it doesn't affect the game. I've tried this with the minimal interface mod and the Star Wars mod. They successfully enable but the effects don't show up in the game.

I have v1.05 and use Vista. When I put a mod in the Mods Folder, I have a single folder titled "Mod Name" then the files inside it. The mods then show up in-game and I can enable them, but they don't have any effect.

(I recently posted this under a different name, Agathon, so this is the same problem just with its own thread)

Can you link to where you got the mods? Also, are all the appropriate files present in the mods' folders?

This is the link where I got the minimal interface mod:

https://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=9&libid=71

And this is where I downloaded the Star Wars mod, right from the top of the page:

http://warlords.swrebellion.com/wp/

The Star Wars mod only contains a .RAR file, so I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to do there. The interface mod contains the TopBar.window and BottomBar.window files, plus a screenshot, an image called Skin_Tech, two notepad docs titled Install and ReadMe, and a Windows Batch File titled RunMe. Do I need to remove some surplus files?

The UI mod is not made for use with the mods folder, and may not even work with the current version of the game (it was released back in February). To try it though, you need to read the included readme file (it is a text file) and install it as described there.

To the Star Wars mod, a RAR is an archive file like a ZIP. Open it and extract the folder to the mods folder, then enable it and choose the Empire as your race when you play.

Thanks! Got the SW mod to work just fine but no luck with the UI mod. Oh well.

Thanks again.
