Firefox 3 & Sites/Forums Compatibility

Yesterday the news broke that Firefox 3 final would be released to the public on Tuesday, June 17th

With every new major version of Firefox, changes are made to how the browser renders pages, in an effort to get closer and closer to published standards.  Unfortunately, since the major web browsers all render pages slightly differently, custom stylesheets have to be built for each specific browser we support.  Since Firefox 3 will render pages differently than Firefox 2 did, this means we will need to update our stylesheets so Firefox 3 works properly with our web sites.

At the moment, we do not officially support Firefox 3 on WinCustomize, JoeUser, ImpulseDriven.net or any of our forums.  We will be adding support for the new browser version as quickly as we can, but we do not anticipate that we will be ready by the browser launch on Tuesday the 17th (we're kind of busy with something else right now).  If you use Firefox 3 with our sites in the meantime, you will still be able to use the sites well enough, there will just be formatting glitches where elements may not display properly on the page.  We know about these, we are working on them.

As we know about these issues, please do not post threads to the forums complaining that the site is broken with Firefox 3.  This post is everyone's official notice that we're aware of the problems and will be working to fix them.  Any posts complaining of issues will be moved to the Site Issues forum and locked.  Please do not clutter the forums with such posts.

Currently, we do not have a definite ETA on when Firefox 3 will be fully supported on our sites.  For now, please continue to use IE6, IE7 or Firefox 2 to browse our sites.

For the most part, everything works fine, it's mostly just little visual glitches here and there (the login/pass boxes on the forums for example).

No issues here... :HOT:

Still limited Lynx support.  This place sucks!

The ONLY issue I've seen is the "My: Site Skins Watchlist Settings" links at the top are a bit low. Other than that, it's just fine!

Continue to use FF2 on the site? Is that some sort of joke? It doesn't even work properly on this site, and how long has it been released as final?

I've been using FF3 for ages. It actually solved some of the browsing problems I was having  :SURPRISED:

Using FF3 RC3 here too, no problems at all with WC, no problems at all with any site that I have found yet.

This is more of a "in case you see something funky" warning.

It's been great for me, just scrollbars in a few places is all I've been noticing :)

what problems do you speak of? I've NEVER had a single problem with FF2 on this site. Or any other site I go to for that matter. (Besides Windows Update)

I posted in the bug report forum without any success. But since you asked, the Download button on skins will disappear entirely after it has been visited. How you could use any version of Firefox and not notice that, I don't know. The problem exists on this site for 2.x AND 3.x.

Possibly because it hasn't happened yet?I've not seen it,and I download from WC quite often.

When did that start happening? Never saw that. The only problem I've had on the site has been in the forums with V2 & 3 of firefox in where the smiley dropdown would only show half the choices.
But what I really wanna know is when your going to support Etch-A-Sketch!

@the smiley dropdown, now it's twice as big as it should be, so I dont think there's any problems with not enough being shown

It shows the smilies most of the time....its just that some of the time the choices in the dropdown are cut off half way down. I can see the first row and half of the second. ;p

For me it's only too big while viewing Articles not while in the forum.

Still haven't seen this in any version of any of the browsers I use.
