Campaign Conflagration

Been trying to beat this Scenario but keep ending up in an economic sinkhole. You start with a -350 income and it doesn't seem to get better. Ive tried deleting all but my survey ship and 1 dreadnaught. also upgraded my colony ship to transport. but by the time I can start taking over planets my econmy is in the red. Any suggestions or Ideas?

Don't bother trying to build on your planet. Quick-buy colony ships (or constructors) with the max financing and try to bee-line across the galaxy to the planet in question.

Pick up the range bonus and speed bonus in race creation. I also got lucky with some Creativity hits giving me some Life Support techs.

Use the fleet given to you as an escort to get over there. I did it with making (I think) 4 colony ships and 1 troop ship. Some prefer the constructor route so that thy aren't limited to empty colonies.
