Will GCII updates still be on SDC, or Impulse-only?

I'm asking because SDC works like a charm for me, but Impulse refuses to update ever unless I leave the computer on overnight.

I'd rather use Impulse for the neat features, but it's just too slow to update.  (Any hotfixes to this problem I'd appreciate- would solve the issue)

Given that SDC and Impulse builds have different version numbers- SDC is going to be discontinued at some point, which makes me scared that it will happen before Impulse gets all the bugs out.  This would really hamper my ability to get the products I want.

Probably have nothing to worry about, but would like some reassurance.

I figured out the perfect solution. After all the updates are done, probably in July, I'm going to zip the entire gc2 folder and save it to disk. Then when I need to reinstall, I'll do so with my original cd so everything will be in the registry, then delete the entire folder and unzip.

If you're having issues with impulse, your best bet is to post about them in the Impulse Beta forum so the impulse devs see and can look into them.

SDC won't be discontinued soon that I'm aware of, though impulse is becoming preferred. AFAIK the last part of the version number is autogenerated when the files are staged into the system, so they don't generally matter. If the first two parts of the version are the same, it's the same.

For GC2 it's not a big deal either way as at last word we were hoping to do a standalone update for the 2.0 release anyway.
