Can't get new logon skins to work.

ok. here is the situation. i have downloaded a new skin for logon studios. i tried to load skin but it doesnt put it in the list. so i figured i would put it with the rest of the skins. after finding the location of the skins i see that they all have folders with extra files. the one i downloaded is but 1 file. looking at the files it looks like they are all files for the logon screen. buttons etc. so i copy all files except the main one ffrom a folder that skins work, create an identical folder with the downloaded skin name on it and put my new skin in folder. skin is now listed but comes up as the skin i took files from so i go into folder find one named preview from the file i took them from, delete it and try again. now logon comes up grey. the error message says im missing bitmap 100 or something like that, which is now the name of my downloaded skin but skin comes up as a file graphic where as the ones already there come up as a preview graphic. ive tried another site and a bunch of other skins and the same thing everywhere. so what the hell is going on and why are these downloadable skins not only the incorrect files but dont even have all the components needed to run them. any ideas? input? someone know what is going on here?

Why not first start with the name of the skin you are tryin g to apply.  Then a link to it.
Once we have that information we can test.

I am guessing that you are using XP and LogonStudio.  Are you sure you didn't download a LogonStudio Vista skin?

If the extension on the file is .logonxp it should be a matter of double-clicking on the file and it should install itself. Otherwise you can rename the extension to .zip and put the folder (in the folder) into C:\Program Files\WinCustomize\LogonStudio. If you can't see the extension, open an explorer window and click on tools. Scroll down to folder options and go to the view tab. Deselect hide extensions for known file types.

always assuming, of course that you are on xp and not vista

I checked your logon out and it's not right. First off it's not in a zip but as a logonxp file. I tried (briefly) to fix the center image but all I got was an error. It will load in Logon Studio, it's just not done right.  :NOTSURE:

really when i load it in my logon studio it says its the current one, doesn't show on the list though and when i check to see if its loaded the 1st one on list loads which is the one that is highlighted when the one i have download says is the current one even though its not on the list. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. i have put it in the folder with all the other skins but it doesn't recognize it. closest it comes is saying its current one even though it isn't

reinstalled studio once again tried loading the file from different locations including the studio folder.
it still lists it as current but the preview shows the one on top of the list. the dl one is not on the list. it does recognize it as a studios file though. so idk for some reason i cant get it on the list and therefore isnt a possible option,

You can't get rid of IE, it's part of the OS.
