Bonus Tile Question

If I make a galactic achievement such as the Thalan's temporal thingy that gives 16mp on a industry bonus tile, does this increase it, or do bonus tiles only work for normal factories?

It should get the bonus, since it produces mp directly.

Dude, that's awesome. Which means this:

In the game I just started, i have one 100% and one 300% industry bonus tiles on my Thalan homeworld rofl. I'm going to be a production fricking powerhouse.

Just remember...your economy will be your limiting factor. A problem for the Thalans in the early game.

On the topic of bonus tiles. We have a research, social, morale, influence and food tile. Why not an econ tile? Too OP?

Most of the time I'd much rather have an econ tile than a food tile, that's for sure. However, from the current mechanics, an econ tile simply can't work:

Bonus tiles grant boni to building producing points.
Econ buildings, however, themselves grant a bonus to income.
Bonus tiles can't grant further boni to building that in themselves, already are a bonus to something.

Hence, econ bonus tiles can't work under the current system.

Believe me when I say, production will not be an issue as the Thalians. Nor research or moral. You get some pretty nifty super projects right at the beginning that will totally swamp other races in this regard.

I understand that on research/social tiles/food tiles as the buildings they can boost have static values associated to them. However, an influence and morale tile boosts buildings that are % based buildings themselves. That was why I was wondering why an econ building couldn't work beyond issues of balance.

Hm. Good point. On the other hand, buildings with research/production percentage bonus aren't affected by bonus tiles. And as far as I can see, there is no flag on improvements 'output can be boosted'.

AFAIC, the Economic Capital is the only current enhancer (implying here that when it is built, you've got an indirect Bonus tile) for BCs output worth more than the Markets_Banks line of self-upgrading assets.

But, if SD coders were ever to think about adding other Bonus tiles to the game -- i'd have a few more to join in to the economy one;

- Military, Defense, Trade, Sensors... being just four on top'of'my'silly'head for tricky new concept(s) and re-balancing advantages!

Possibly why i DO have a new Military Capital in the upcoming X-Worlds 05-F version, btw.
