In this case , its usually not your fault but the person hosting is trying to host with blocked ports. Essentially everyone will get "disconnected from game server" when they try to join his game.

Test join games that already have some people in them.

That message is very misleading. You are never really able to join the game server, so you can't be disconnected from it.

@schmikah

Please download read/implement the instructions in my guide "Networking and SINS" which can be found linked-to from the very bottom of the "Technical FAQ" (not the regular FAQ) or in my stickied thread in the "Technical" forum.

Follow the steps in my guide (don't skip steps) and you'll be fine. :)

thanks,

Honestly Monk I'm a complete novice when it comes to this stuff and was confused by your article. I'm sure it's very clear to someone that knows a bit more. I'm running a linksys wrt54gs and have done everything I have read about to make hosting sins work to no avail. I don't see any nat settings other that "filter nat redirections". I'm assuming that my nat settings are the problem since I have set up a static address and am using port forwarding at 6112... any ideas or a walkthrough for us newbs?

@ Ozzy702

You're sure you used my "step-by-step" guide (Networking and SINS) and not the other more generic one?

I wrote the generic one last year to help out with issuse in World in Conflict, the SINS one I wrote Feb 14th of 2008. Please check the file dates if you're unsure of which guide to use.

The link to my SINS hosting setup step-by-step guide can be found in the OP of this thread right under the GREEN writing.

If you have in fact downloaded that guide already and are still having trouble following those steps, I'll be glad to invite you onto my TeamSpeak server to talk you through the instructions. Please contact me via xfire to set up a time.

thanks,
