Re-installs every time application is executed

I purchased Sins of a Solar Empire yesterday and I'm having an installation problem.  I installed the software and was able to play through one of the tutorials.  When I tried to execute the game again I noticed there weren't any icons on the desktop.  I selected Stardock_Games => Sins of a Solar Empire => Sins of a Solar Empire from the start menu.  The startup screen appeared but the only available options were "Install Game", "Readme", and "Web".  If I select "Install Game" I'm prompted to run setup.exe from the DVD.  I can do this and after 15 minutes or so I'm able to play the game.  It appears that the install didn't complete.  I'm running Windows XP with Norton Internet Security 2007.  I assumed it was a Norton issue so I disabled Norton for one hour and re-installed but the same problem occurred.  I would appreciate any suggestions anyone may have.

Thanks.

Try to launch the executable of the game directly: go to "C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire" and open the executable named "Sins Of A Solar Empire.exe".
If it works without needing to reinstall, create a shortcut on the desktop with the address of the executable. If the installation is not complete the game could not work properly (it might not save your preferences).
Sorry for my english...

If you run regedit via the Start Menu's Run option and browse down (be sure to only look, don't change anything) to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net, is there a sins folder there with some values in it?

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I can't believe I didn't think of just running the executable directly. When I did that it worked like a charm.

Thanks again.
