Cannot change Max/Min/Close button colors in WB6 with SkinStudio 5 - why not?

I was using one of Tinar's awesome INVI Dark skins with Windows XP Pro. Not being a very big fan of blue, I had changed all the blue colors to red and had changed the window button colors accordingly. I recently upgraded from Windowblinds 4.6 to Windowblinds 6 and for some reason I lost the color changes I'd made to the Max/Min/Close window buttons. No matter what I try, the changes don't stick - is it because I'm still using SkinStudio 5?
Any help would be greatly appreciated - thanks in advance:)

If SKS 5 will open the skin then it will work for the changes.

Are you saving the skin after making the changes?

Of course, I always save the changes.

Here's what worked originally: I changed the color scale across the board for the INVI Dark skin so that all the blue graphics became red. Then I copied & pasted the Max/Min/Close buttons from the original INVI Dark skin folder (because when I made the across-the-board color changes it naturally affected those buttons as well, but I like the standard Windows button theme of Blue (Maximize/Restore), Blue (Minimize) and Red (Close) - and that worked perfectly for me using WIndowblinds 4.6.

But for Windowblinds 6, the button colors are changed as well, even if I copy & paste them from an unaltered skin folder - I don't know why and I don't know what to do about it...

check the file names to make sure they are 'replacing' them

That's done for me because from skin to skin, Tinar has the same names for certain image files, buttons, etc. You can check out his library of WB skins for XP here and see for yourself: http://007tinar.deviantart.com/gallery/#Windowblinds-XP

His stuff is absolutely beautiful...except he's a big fan of blue in ways that I'm not. Everything blue I changed to red EXCEPT the Min and Max/Restore button, to stay true to the basic Windows theme, or because I'm so damn used to those buttons being those colors.

In WB 4.6 this was not a tricky thing to do at all...but WB 6 is being a pain in the bloody arse!
But I do love the new effects, Blur and Start Menu transparencies, etc. so I'd like to stay with WB6.

I guess I'll just learn to live with Tinar's color scheme...the skin is so freakin nice, after all...

I know this is a pretty old post, but when you changed everything to Red, did you do it manually in Skinstudio, or through Windowblinds?  Reading through, I get the implication that you changed it in Windowblinds, which will affect everything after it applies the skin.  So to do it your way, you'd have to find out what the difference between the Hue degree numbers for Red and the Hue degree numbers for Blue is.  In my experience in Photoshop, Red is 0, and Blue is about 220-230's-ish.  Then you'll actually need to change the blue buttons to (in this case) double what you expect.  That way, if the 'blue' buttons have hue of 80 (wrapping around 360=0), then when you shift the colour of the whole skin in Windowblinds to red, they should end up blue.

That, or you could do the colour changes 100% through Skinstudio, and manually change every button except those three to blue.

And if I went the wrong direction with the numbers, or my math is off, someone correct me.  It's early for me, here.
