What do I have to offer??

While I am very new here, I must say this is my most visited site ever. Everything here is absolutely incredible, from the Artists, Community, Support, and Products. I have downloaded a lot of nice work here to customize my desktop, and appreciate all of it. While I am just learning the basics of everything, and am not the most talented artist, it could be a long time (If ever) that you will see my work on here. I would like to contribute something to this community. So, what do I have to offer?? Where I lack in artistry, I make up in creativity. Since I've been here my mind just runs with ideas, and as I don't know how to implement them, I will be making regular posts (Depending on the response from this one) called "Visions" which are ideas or artwork, which hopefully some will like the idea and bring it to life. I will try to be as descriptive and detailed in my posts and add simple pictures if possible.

My first vision comes from a post I recently made called "Couple Questions" under Docks where I asked about corner docks. I've been working on this in my head, and think it could be achieved by the right artist. It would involve using 3 seperate docks. I'll use the bottom left corner of the screen for this example. The first 2 docks would be zoomers, one on the left side, and one on the botton, which would have 45 degree angles on one end, so when positioned they would align seemlessly in the corner. These 2 would be set to hide in background. You could add a seperator or two to each dock, towards the corner to make enough room for the third dock, which would be a single icon, with the background opacity set so it was invisible, and it would be positioned in the corner, and set to be always on top, except when windows are maximized. This way it would remain on top of the other 2 docks, and the 3 together would appear as one dock. I have a very simple picture of how it would look, I would have the start menu located as the 3rd dock, as in this picture. I hope this is descriptive enough to understand, and I'll be checking for responses, and hopefully will see the all new "Corner dock backgrounds" soon. Thanks to all that read this.

Have to wait for a ODock+ user to reply... I'm curious as to what the answer may be.

The way I see it.... (and I'm using the freeloader version so I'm guessing here...)

Not sure you can have 3 docks stacked on top of each other... especially with possibly 2 designated as 'always on top'

Each to the 3 components above are rectangular/square

left and bottom are rectangles and the start would be a square

Where you have the 45 degree angle would be done in graphics with the 'part cut off' actually being transparent, so they actually overlap with your start overlapping the other 2 (don't know if OD+ allows that)

Difficult but probably not impossible. The problems you'd run into is what Bichur already explained...plus, the user would have to be able to line all this up manually though. The third dock would be a real pain.

Probably be easier to do a DX theme with this concept

Well really the third dock would be pointless wouldn't it?

You could just align two docks to the corner like you are showing and then put a start menu docklet/icon as the first icon on either dock. Just put your settings in the .ini file so that the first icon will show right at the edge of the dock. Right? :NOTSURE:
