Changing game language.

I was given a copy of Galactic Civilisation 2 which I was lead to believe was purchased from Amazon but it's a German version and not English.  It's not second hand and is / was  still in it's plastic wrapper but I'm guessing it came from a third party seller or something.

Anyway to cut to the chase, Is it possible to get the game to play in English?

If you have a valid serial, just register it and you can use Stardock Central (see the downloads page) to download the English version of the game in its entirety.

If it comes to that I'll just buy a new CD from Game or something. I only have Vodaphone mobile broadband and the connection speed and reliability isn't all that great. :-)

You will need to edit a registry entry to change the language from german to english.

How would I do that? has someone done this before as a spercific folder and file neame would be greatly apreciated.

Well, you should take a look to the registry directory HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.net\GalCiv2. You will find in it a registry key corresponding to the language used byt GC2. Change the value to "english".
