Question about amount of online players

Quoted from Frogboy

"People need to understand what 114 playres online means. It means that there are 114 players currently NOT in games but rather in the lobby. It is not the number of people playing online."

Is this true? Somehow it doesn't seem like there are ever as many people in the lobbies to account for that. And i'm talking about a wide margin, not enough to fit in lobbies of games and postgame lobbies.

The ICO lobby does not show games in progress, thus at any time the number of players in the lobby are those that are not playing :P So we can never see how many games are actually in progress.

Its actually not true.

The 114 players online means everyone whos online , waiting in the lobby or ingame. So potentially you could have 113 players inside game , and you will be on your lonesome in the lobby thinking where the hell is everyone.

114 is actually ALOT of players. Id be over the moon to have seen that number of players in Homeworld 2 online , and I was playing that game for years with only 40-50 players online MAX, AT PEAK TIME. Kinda figures why I dont take Sins online numbers for granted and neither should anyone else.

Its actually not true.
End of quote

Anyone who's in-game is not in the lobby channel, thus would not be showing.. unless this changed :P

Edit: Realized after I posted that we're talking about different things. I mean the people who show up in the lobby, not the online counter - I don't know for a fact whether or not that one counts people in-game, though you're probably right in that it just counts everyone who logged in.

So frogboy attempted to spread misinformation to make the game seem like it wasn't floundering online?
And you can compare sins to Homeworld 2 lobby, or you can compare it to AOE2 lobby which still have a huge amount of players.
