Can't open Game Once Installed?

I just bought the game, installed it and tried to open it but the game never loaded. I installed the game again and left the DVD in and the game began. I was able to change my settings and then I stopped the game took the DVD out then put it back in and started the game from the start menu on the desktop and got a message telling to install the game again. I don't get it. Anybody?

One thing I can think of is for you to register your key with SDC/Impulse and download the game through either one of those and see what happens.

Sounds like a registry issue causing the launcher to not recognize that the game has been installed; as with any launcher issues, you should be able to simply change the shortcut to point at Sins of a Solar Empire.exe (the game itself) instead.

That seems to be the problem. I looked at the target file on the short cut installed by the game and it pointed to the launcher, which doesn't work or open the game. The.exe file opened the game. I made another short cut to my desktop to the .exe file and that works! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! :)

Is this game by the same group which made Star Trek Armada 2? I've had many a good hour playing that from a few years ago. Seems similar.
