Cursor disappears during play

I have a problem, and I hope theres somebody out there that can help.

I looked around in the forums, and there were a few topics about the cursor disappearing, but there doesnt seem to be an answer on how to solve the problem.

I just bought the game, and after starting it up, the cursor just stops moving after a few seconds, usually before a minute has elapsed, its still there however, I just cant see it any more.
I installed the latest patch, but that doesnt work either. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Do you have any special mouse software installed (Kensington, Logitech, etc)?

I've been suffering the same problem also. From the moment my game loads I can not see my cursor, it still exists (Icons light up when its over them and I can locate it with the control "find" feature, and I can click on the items), but it is invisible.

I use a dell laser mouse and I'm almost certain I have no additional software installed for it either. My friend is able to run the game on his laptop with no issue. Any help in fixing this problem would be appreciated.

Thanks, Zal

I'm not sure how much help this will be, but I had a similar issue. My cursor would vanish when I wasn't moving my mouse, and when I did move my mouse it was blinking with a black tracer-like box.

After adjusting my hardware acceleration to max I no longer have that problem.

I think my hardware acceleration is maxed so I'm not sure if thats the issue. The mouse is never visible at any time when the game window is up. I will try and see if it is visible in windowed mode, but I'm fairly sure that won't make a difference.

If you think a dxdiag report would be of any use I will be happy to email you one (whoever that may be).

I was able to solve the problem myself. I simply had to update the drivers for my video card.

So for anyone else who has this issue:
-Go to your computer vendor's web page (the website of the company that sold you the system
-Locate the most up to date drivers for the video card that you own
-Download and install

If your computer's vendor doesn't have the driver downloads on his website:
-Be sure you know what video card you have
-Go to that video card's manufacturers web page to find the download

If you don't know what video card you have simply:
-Click start
-Go to run
-type in Dxdiag
-Go to the display tab
-Look in the device box, your card should be the first item after "name"

Hope this helps anyone else who was suffering from the same problem.
